The Metropolitan Youth Orchestra (MYO) is a youth and family development program of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. The program is designed to use the life skills learned in music instruction to engage youth in activities that discourage at-risk behaviors and keep them committed to staying in school.

Meet Our Graduating Class - Part One

As the end of the school year approaches, we're reminded of all the hard work and dedication of this year's MYO seniors.  We are very proud of all of our graduating seniors and can't wait to see what the future has in store for them. Seniors, you will be missed! 

Let's meet the first half of our group of 2014 graduates.


Zoe Black is graduating from Herron High School and will be attending University of Michigan to pursue a degree in visual arts.  In addition to her involvement with MYO, Zoe has served as a captain for the soccer team and has also played lacrosse.  She has been on the High Honor Roll at Herron every year and also received an honorable mention as a mural designer for the Julian Center of Indianapolis.








Jordan Barnette is graduating from Crosspointe Christian Academy.







Kyra Bowman is graduating from North Central High School and will attend Ivy Tech for one year and then transfer to Ball State University.  Kyra plans to study fashion design and merchandising as well as accounting.  During her high school career, Kyra has been involved in Hebrew and Latin club as well as participating in AVID, a college prep course.  She has received two leadership awards as well as the award for most fashionable in her class.







Cody Coffman is graduating from Key Learning Community and plans to attend IUPUI.  Cody is a member of the National Honor Society and is also a recipient of Academic Honors.  He enjoys designing logos and album covers and plans to pursue a degree in graphic design.







George Gemelas is graduating from Carmel High School and will be attending Yale University, where he plans to study global affairs.





Caleb Guerrero is graduating from Key Learning Community and plans to pursue a degree in multi-media production at Ball State University.
