Messages from the Graduating Class to Betty and the MYO

As they prepare to graduate from high school, some of our seniors have written special notes to Betty Perry and the rest of the supportive team at MYO. Thank you, seniors, for these words of encouragement!

Mrs. Perry, thank you for creating a program which not only fostered my love of music, but opened my eyes to the opportunities and community which surrounds it.

          - Zoe Black, cello

Mrs. Perry, you are full of surprises!

          - Kyra Bowman, violin

I had wanted to quit more than once, but Mrs. Perry talked me back into picking up my violin again and seeing this out to the end. I may not take over this program like she keeps telling me that I should, but no matter what, this program will always have a special place in my heart.

          - Cody Coffman, violin

Mrs. Perry, thank you for enriching our lives musically, emotionally, and spiritually.

          - George Gemelas, viola

MYO has helped me understand the artistic and technical traits of music and I will love music ever more.

          - Caleb Guerrero, violin

MYO has given me an experience that I will continue to value for the rest of my life. I was surrounded by strong leadership-which gave me the strength and confidence I needed to continue my passion for music at a deeper level.

          - Sharif Ibrahim, bass

Mrs. Perry – I would like to thank you for believing in me and pushing me to be a better musician and a better person.
          - Myles Robinson, violin

MYO not only made me like the violin, but made me love playing the violin.
          - Olivia Smith, violin

Mrs. Perry – Learned so much from you and the lesson teachers. Thank you for everything you do. You are a great teacher and I love you.
          - Jessica Thomas, bass

Thank you, Betty, for all that you do to enrich the lives of our students!
