The Metropolitan Youth Orchestra (MYO) is a youth and family development program of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. The program is designed to use the life skills learned in music instruction to engage youth in activities that discourage at-risk behaviors and keep them committed to staying in school.

Art and Soul on February 23

 
Join us on Saturday for a free performance of our Orchestra D ensembles.  The performers will include little ones as young as 5 up to and including grandparents!
 
We'll have a few moments of audience participation, so come to have some fun with us on Saturday.

MYO is gearing up for a busy spring!

MYO is in the midst of a great season and here are a few more places where you can spot us:

Tuesday, February 5 - Orchestra B performed at the ISO's Celebration of Black History Concert.  Check out our Facebook page for pictures from this event! 

Saturday, February 23 - Orchestra D ensembles will perform at the Arts Council's Art and Soul Festival.  See more details about the lineup here: http://www.indyarts.org/art-soul.  The concert begins at 1:00 pm at the Indianapolis Artsgarden.

Sunday, March 3 - Orchestra A and B students will perform solo pieces in recitals held at Broadway United Methodist Church (609 E 29th Street).  Performances begin at 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm.  Recitals are free and open to the public. 

Sunday, March 10 - This isn't an MYO performance, but MYO families will get to experience the ISO's SymFUNy Sundays "Dance to the Music" concert together!  Click here for details about this fun and exciting concert and to purchase tickets.

Sunday, March 17 - Orchestras A and B will perform a Concerto Concert at Broadway United Methodist Church (609 E 29th Street).  The concert is free and open to the public and will begin at 3:00 pm.  We will feature middle and high school age soloists on works by Bach, Vivaldi, Seitz and more. The Kokomo Symphony Youth Orchestra will be our invited guest performers as well.

Sunday, April 14 - Orchestra A and B students will perform solo pieces in recitals held at Broadway United Methodist Church (609 E 29th Street). Performances begin at 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Recitals are free and open to the public.

Sunday, May 19 - Join us for our wild and crazy Jazz and Jam!  We will feature all of our orchestras in this performance of jazz repertoire at the Hilbert Circle Theatre. Once again, this concert is free and open to the public, so join us for a fun-filled afternoon of great music and celebration.
