The Metropolitan Youth Orchestra (MYO) is a youth and family development program of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. The program is designed to use the life skills learned in music instruction to engage youth in activities that discourage at-risk behaviors and keep them committed to staying in school.

Meet Our Graduating Class - Part Two

Let's meet the second half of this year's group of MYO graduates. Seniors, we are so proud of you!


Sharif Ibrahim is graduating from Carmel High School and plans to attend Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music. In addition to MYO, Sharif has been involved in music at his high school, serving as bass section leader of the CHS orchestra and participating in jazz band and wind symphony.




Hannah Murphy is graduating from North Central High School.
Myles Robinson is graduating from Pike High School. In the fall, he will be attending Purdue University to study information technology. Outside MYO, Myles has been involved in track, football, Key Club, Best Buddies, and debate team. He made the honor roll and deans list in addition to being honored as symphony concertmaster and captain of the track and field team.





Rebecca Jones is graduating from Pike High School.
Olivia Smith is graduating from Pike High School. She plans on attending Ohio State University to study biology and eventually pursue a career as an orthopedic surgeon. During her high school career, Olivia has been involved in soccer, the National Honor Society, Ambassadors, and the Black History Club, where she served as secretary. She is an AP Scholar in the top 30 of her graduating class. She was also honored as an All State Academic Scholar for soccer, a Pike Top Outstanding Scholar Athlete, a district science fair winner, and received a gold at ISSMA Solo and Ensemble. Olivia has also had an abstract published for research.

Jessica Thomas is graduating from Broad Ripple High School. She plans on attending Indiana University to major in veterinary medicine and minor in music. She has been a mentor at Turning Point Family Worship center, participated in Little Sisters, served as a church usher, and played for the jazz band and orchestra.
